Vote! - Young Citizens 2016

The fifth edition of the Young Citizens program will officially begin when electronic voting goes live on Monday, June 13 at 9:00am (EST). Participation has been excellent this year; about 200 videos will be posted online by the time voting becomes available.

Note that every province and territory achieved their goals in terms of participation. Without your help, we would not have been able to achieve such success. A huge thank you to all of you! Once again this year, to vote you must visit YoungCitizens.ca and click the vote button situated on each student’s profile. Note that this button will only appear on Monday.

You will need a valid email address, and will only be able to vote once for each candidate that you wish to support. The voting will remain open until 11:59 pm on July 6, 2016. The results will determine 50% of students’ final scores. You will also have the option to share videos via Facebook and twitter by clicking on the social media buttons found on student profile pages. Please feel free to spread the word!

Note that students can also download promotional materials on our website in order to help them get the word out. We have already shared this information with them. Judges will be evaluating videos throughout the summer in order to select the finalists. Winners, to be announced later in the season, will have the opportunity to travel to Ottawa in the fall.

We invite you to post constructive comments on this year’s videos. A comment section has been added to every Young Citizen’s profile page. Note that comments will be filtered before going live.

Happy viewing!
